It takes a blending of expert specialists and quality equipment to detect hidden leaks. With our extensive experience and state-of-the-art equipment we have saved homeowners billions of gallons of water. By utilizing our methods, not only are we saving water, but saving homeowners millions of dollars in costly property damage and destruction.
Electronic leak detection on water and sewer lines concealed underground, under slabs and in walls. Service Lines – leaks may occur between the meter and the home. The homeowner may hear water running first or receive a high water bill.
Leak Detection Services
- Well Lines – leaks can occur between the well to the house or from the cistern to outbuildings and the house. The homeowner may note that the pump is recycling more often than usual, and/or experience a loss of pressure on the system.
- Hot and cold water lines – if there’s a hot spot on the slab floor, there may be a leak under the slab.
- Sewer Lateral – if the sewer line is blocked and not draining properly, we can inspect it to provide an accurate diagnosis of the issue.
- Sewer Gas – this very uncomfortable issue can be solved by performed some tests to confirm the integrity of the sewer, waste and heating system.
- Water Intrusion in the basement – after a strong rainstorm or when snow melts water can come in through cracks behind the drywall. We can confirm the entry points and treat the cracks to stop the water intrusion.
- Underground Utility Locating – if there is need to locate utilities on private property before excavation we perform this service professionally to eliminate utility damage. All locatable sewer laterals, storm drains, water lines, irrigation lines, power and communication lines can be identified and marked on the ground with the proper color-coding.
Swimming Pool Detection Services
- Swimming pool plumbing test – we inspect the pool’s plumbing system and test for pressure drops on each line to verify if that line is leak free. The leak is located on the line after a failed test.
- Swimming pool structure test – we test a liner pool’s structure for leaks with a visual inspection by either diving the pool or using an electronic tool from the deck.
Swimming Pool Checklist:
Before having a leak detection performed, verify the rate of water loss. Use the Bucket Test and the water loss calculator to determine the water loss.
Before the leak specialist arrives to perform the leak detection, the pool should be clean and clear, and operating at the normal full level. Cloudy water may be a sign of bacterial infestation and the pool should not be entered by anyone. Information needed to give an accurate Detection Charge:
- What is the construction of the pool: gunite, vinyl liner or fiberglass?
- How many skimmers or pumps?
- Is there a spa, water feature, slide/water attached?
- Is there an auto-fill system?
- Is the pool up and running or still winterized?
- How much water is added everyday?
Bucket Test:
Test your pool for leaks by comparing the evaporation rate from a bucket. If it’s a liner pool run the test over a 24-hour period with the system on and a second time for 24-hours with the system off. If the pool loses more water when the system is on that may indicate that the problem is the plumbing, otherwise the leak may be in the liner.
Swimming Pool Repair Services
Concrete/gunite, vinyl and fiberglass are the three main types of in-ground swimming pools. Each is vulnerable to different forms of leaks and requires various methods to repair.
Leaks found in pool’s plumbing lines are most often due to corrosion or ground movement. Once the plumbing leak is located the line will exposed by cutting the concrete deck. Then the technician will handle the repair and bed the line. After re-testing the line, a concrete patch is placed on the deck, depending on the deck style. If longer length of the pipe is required that will be discussed.
