American Leak Detection located the source of a water leak in the line to our house from the main water line using their method of blowing helium in to the line and then locating where it surfaces. Their service is detection not repair.
It went very well, I called the company after discovering that we had a water leak. Our water bill was triple the average and we called the city and they determined that it was not inside the house but from the main line to the house. I spoke with someone immediately at the company and it was arranged for Charlie to come out I believe the next day. He was on time and quickly set about setting up for his inspection. He inspected our crawl space, thankfully, and discovered that we had a great deal of water because our sump pump had stopped working evidently some time ago. Charlie then, using their efficient method, located the source of the leak in a pipe running under the aggregate walkway to the garage. He recommended a company that he felt could do the repair and also help with the sump pimp and crawl space issue. The whole process was quite efficient and quick. He was very personable and helpful, and although I thought their base rate of $500 seemed a bit high for the work done and amount of time that it took they located it in a short amount of time and with no damage or destruction to do it. And we were able to get on with fixing the problem quickly plus he discovered the water problem in the crawl space which might have gone undiscovered for a long time.

I paid the $450 fee, which was quoted to me over the phone before they came out. They located the leak in an area where I did not expect the leak to be, so they saved me a lot of trial-and-error digging. I wish I had called them sooner.
