Absolutely. Modern leak detection technology has made it possible to test even large water holding structures such as ponds and fountains. Not every company is equipped or experienced enough to handle large pond leak detection work, but there are companies out there that specialize in this kind of work.
Depending on the amount of water loss, the size of the recirculating system, and the condition of the pond interior, a good leak detection company should be able to give you a summary of all the work involved and a reasonable estimate for the leak detection.

I saw your post and thought I would tell you how I solved a problem leak in my pond, accidently .
I have a friend in the road paving business who offered to dig my pond deeper a little over a year ago. At the deepest end we dug to 40 ft, striking a large underground spring. The pond came up fairly quickly, but reached a point where it actually stop rising, and in fact, started going out almost as fast as it originally rose up . We then decided to put some of the dirt back into the pond, raising the bottom about 10 ft . That slowed the leak but didnt stop it. I purchased a large liner but never placed it because I needed to remove some old tractor tires we had thrown in for fish habitat. Lo and behold, one day it stopped as quickly as the problem had started. What happened ? My friend had been doing some paving right next to the pond, using a very large roller, what we would call a steam roller. The roller has a vibrating device that helps to pack the pavement as well as compress it. This caused the top of the pond water to vibrate all the way across my 1.5 acre pond . That vibrating caused the soil in the bottom of the pond to vibrate thus compacting the pond bottom. Problem solved ! All this by accident ! We then took the roller for a spin all the way around the pond, as close to the edge as we dared. Works like a charm . Hope this helps .
