Protect Your Facility Before Water Loss Becomes Water Damage

Complex facilities depend on water every day.

Pools, spas, locker rooms, showers, kitchens, laundry areas, irrigation systems, mechanical equipment, residential units, and underground plumbing all create potential points of failure. A small leak, running fixture, equipment malfunction, or irrigation problem can continue for days or weeks before it becomes visible.

The American Leak Detection Smart Water Monitoring Program gives facility teams a more proactive way to manage these risks.

Through ongoing water-use monitoring, centralized alerts, professional review, and access to American Leak Detection’s service network, your organization can identify abnormal water activity earlier and respond before the problem becomes more costly.

See What Our Customers Say
"They showed up on time and gave good advice with a fair price."
“This is a fair and honest company. They showed up on time and gave good advice with a fair price. They can be trusted to give accurate information.”
    - Alda F.
"They came in, investigated with smoke, and fixed the problem. For the first time in two months, my house doesn't smell like a restaurant toilet."
“I had an awful rotten egg smell as soon as I bought our house. After calling two plumbers (who charged me a fee to tell me nothing was wrong), the Gas Company (no gas leak), and the Public Works Department, I finally called American Leak Detection. They came in, investigated with smoke, and fixed the problem. For the first time in two months, my house doesn't smell like a restaurant toilet. Highly recommend them!”
    - Sandi T.
"I can't say enough good things about their service!"
“I can't say enough good things about their service! We had a slab leak that flooded the master bedroom and they came as quickly as they could and then rearranged their work schedule so the repair could be made and we could once again have water turned on. The workmen were professional and efficient. I hope I never have to use that kind of service again but if so, they are he best.”
    - Carolyn R.
"After 30 years in this house, we have had many service people come to do work. No one has ever delivered better than Daniel."
“Tree roots had cracked my filter pipes and I was losing water badly. I was referred to American Leak Detection and set up an appointment. Daniel came out and did his best to diagnose the problem. He got very strange results and it was hard to determine the exact pipe(s) that were cracked but since I'd had a similar repair done 6 years ago and we could see evidence of the tree root damage from above, I felt confident we knew were the issue was and I contracted for the work. I was pleasantly surprised to see Daniel return to perform the work. I arranged to be home that day so I could see what he found. I supposed I hovered, taking pictures of the process, asking questions as he went along. He never got annoyed and answered every question with a smile. I don't think i ever saw anyone work harder. It was obvious from that start he had a lot of experience and knew what he was doing. Digging out the area had to be done mostly by hand which he did efficiently without complaints. He found multiple pipes cracked which explained the odd results during diagnosis. The job took longer than expected because it was difficult work and he ran out of daylight but on the job until he it wasn't possible anymore that day. Even though he was fully booked for the following day, his company rearranged his schedule so he could return the following afternoon. I returned home early from work and was able to see him complete the job. He even patched the deck with new concrete like an artisan, taking every care to make it as smooth and neat as possible. After 30 years in this house, we have had many service people come to do work. No one has ever delivered better than Daniel. He was competent, diligent, and pleasant. The cost wasn't cheap but it was fair. I don't mind at all paying for quality service.”

How it Works
  • We review your property, plumbing systems, water use, leak history, existing monitoring, and operational priorities.

    The assessment may include:

    • Property layout
    • Water-intensive amenities
    • Existing meters and monitoring devices
    • Automatic shutoff capabilities
    • High-risk plumbing areas
    • Historical utility usage
    • Prior leaks and repairs
    • Current emergency-response procedures
  • Selected monitoring technology tracks water activity and generates alerts when unusual conditions are detected.

Depending on the property, monitoring may cover an entire building, specific systems, individual areas, or multiple locations across a portfolio.

  • American Leak Detection reviews available monitoring information and helps determine what dashboard alerts and parameters to set.

Not every alert requires an emergency dispatch. Some may be related to normal operations, maintenance issues, fixture problems, irrigation, or changes in facility use.

Professional review helps avoid unnecessary responses while making sure significant issues are escalated appropriately.

  • When field investigation is needed, American Leak Detection coordinates the appropriate diagnostic response.

    Services may include:

    • Domestic plumbing leak detection
    • Underground water-line testing
    • Irrigation leak detection
    • Pool and spa leak detection
    • Sewer and drain investigations
    • Fixture and equipment evaluation
    • Cause-and-origin testing
    • Plumbing diagnostics
  • Once the problem is identified, ALD helps guide the next step. This may include operational correction, maintenance, targeted repair, additional testing, or repair coordination.

  • Program reporting helps your organization track alerts, identified issues, water-loss events, response activity, repairs, and potential savings.

More Than a Monitoring Device

Water-monitoring technology can tell you that something has changed.

It cannot always tell you:

  • What caused the alert
  • Where the water is being used
  • Whether the issue is urgent
  • Whether a technician should be dispatched
  • What type of testing is needed to find the issue
  • How the problem should be repaired
  • Whether the issue has actually been resolved

American Leak Detection provides the professional support behind the technology.

Our Water Security Program connects monitoring data with experienced review, leak-detection expertise, field response, repair coordination, and ongoing risk-management support.

Technology provides the alert. American Leak Detection provides the response path.

Designed for Water-Intensive and Complex Properties

The Smart Water Monitoring Program is designed for organizations managing properties with significant or varied water use, including:

  • Athletic clubs and fitness centers
  • Schools and educational campuses
  • Multifamily communities
  • Senior living facilities
  • Hotels and resorts
  • Recreation centers
  • Health and wellness facilities
  • Homeowners associations
  • Mixed-use developments
  • Commercial property portfolios

These facilities often contain multiple plumbing systems and operational areas that must be evaluated together, rather than treated as unrelated service calls.

Desk Review or On-Site Inspection?
  • The program is customized based on your property type, plumbing infrastructure, existing monitoring technology, operational needs, and response expectations.
  • Wireless monitoring devices track water activity and help identify unusual consumption, continuous flow, and unexpected usage patterns.
  • Facility and portfolio teams can review water-use information across individual properties or multiple locations.
  • Alerts may identify conditions such as continuous usage, after-hours flow, abnormal consumption, or a sudden increase in water demand.
  • American Leak Detection helps interpret alerts and determine the most appropriate next step.
  • Our team evaluates water-use patterns, leak history, plumbing concerns, high-risk areas, and response procedures.
  • When an alert indicates a possible leak, American Leak Detection can coordinate targeted, minimally invasive leak-detection services.
  • When a leak or plumbing issue is confirmed, ALD can help define the repair path and coordinate an appropriate service solution.
  • Ongoing services may include device checks, annual system reviews, water-use reporting, preventive recommendations, and follow-up after completed work.
