Slab Leak Detection in Thomaston, GA
Non-Invasive Under-Slab Leak Location for Upson County Homes
Water lines running beneath a concrete slab don’t leak the way a pipe inside a wall does. Damage builds below grade, quietly affecting the foundation, warping flooring, and inflating the water bill long before any visible sign appears. American Leak Detection provides slab leak detection in Thomaston and throughout Upson County, backed by over 40 years of industry experience and guided by the principle of Leak Detection Without Destruction™. As the original Leak Detection Specialists™, we locate the problem precisely before any concrete is touched.
Thomaston’s housing stock includes a large share of mid-century ranch, bungalow, and craftsman homes built on concrete slab foundations, a construction type that routes water lines directly beneath the slab. The longer a slab leak goes undetected, the greater the risk of foundation damage, mold, and costly repairs. Acting at the first sign of a problem can limit what that repair ultimately costs.
Call (866) 701-5306 to schedule slab leak detection in Thomaston, GA. We can locate the leak precisely so your repair contractor has an exact target, not a guess.
Precise Detection Before Any Demolition Begins
The core of our approach is knowing exactly where the leak is before anyone breaks concrete or pulls up flooring. Our technicians use advanced technology to trace plumbing lines, confirm a leak through pressure testing, pinpoint the location, and mark it for the repair contractor. That contractor arrives with a confirmed target rather than a reason to excavate half a floor.
This is what non-invasive detection means in practice: no exploratory demolition, no hit-and-miss searching, no unnecessary damage to your home. Equipment isolates the leak area precisely, and the marked location is what you hand off to the plumber.
Our pricing follows the Know Before You Go approach. You receive upfront pricing before any work begins, with no hidden fees. Our technicians arrive on time, complete work within the given time frame, and leave the property clean.
Warning Signs of a Slab Leak
Recognizing the early indicators can help keep a contained problem from becoming a foundation issue. These are the signs Thomaston homeowners most commonly report:
- Unexplained water bill increases: A spike with no visible leaks elsewhere in the home is a common early indicator of under-slab water line loss.
- Running water sounds with no fixtures in use: If you hear water moving through the home when everything is off, or your water meter continues to move with all water shut off, a slab leak is a likely cause.
- Warm or wet spots on floors: A warm patch on a concrete or tile floor often points to a hot water line leak beneath the slab. Damp areas at the base of walls are another physical sign.
- Flooring or foundation changes: Cracks in flooring or the slab, or doors and windows that no longer close properly, may indicate that a slab leak has progressed to the point of affecting the foundation structure.

“I had an awful rotten egg smell as soon as I bought our house. After calling two plumbers (who charged me a fee to tell me nothing was wrong), the Gas Company (no gas leak), and the Public Works Department, I finally called American Leak Detection. They came in, investigated with smoke, and fixed the problem. For the first time in two months, my house doesn't smell like a restaurant toilet. Highly recommend them!”- Sandi T.

“I can't say enough good things about their service! We had a slab leak that flooded the master bedroom and they came as quickly as they could and then rearranged their work schedule so the repair could be made and we could once again have water turned on. The workmen were professional and efficient. I hope I never have to use that kind of service again but if so, they are he best.”- Carolyn R.

“Tree roots had cracked my filter pipes and I was losing water badly. I was referred to American Leak Detection and set up an appointment. Daniel came out and did his best to diagnose the problem. He got very strange results and it was hard to determine the exact pipe(s) that were cracked but since I'd had a similar repair done 6 years ago and we could see evidence of the tree root damage from above, I felt confident we knew were the issue was and I contracted for the work. I was pleasantly surprised to see Daniel return to perform the work. I arranged to be home that day so I could see what he found. I supposed I hovered, taking pictures of the process, asking questions as he went along. He never got annoyed and answered every question with a smile. I don't think i ever saw anyone work harder. It was obvious from that start he had a lot of experience and knew what he was doing. Digging out the area had to be done mostly by hand which he did efficiently without complaints. He found multiple pipes cracked which explained the odd results during diagnosis. The job took longer than expected because it was difficult work and he ran out of daylight but on the job until he it wasn't possible anymore that day. Even though he was fully booked for the following day, his company rearranged his schedule so he could return the following afternoon. I returned home early from work and was able to see him complete the job. He even patched the deck with new concrete like an artisan, taking every care to make it as smooth and neat as possible. After 30 years in this house, we have had many service people come to do work. No one has ever delivered better than Daniel. He was competent, diligent, and pleasant. The cost wasn't cheap but it was fair. I don't mind at all paying for quality service.”- String R.
